Nice to see your pix IGI & Ron. I haven't taken anything for days, it's just been too cold and miserable for me to feel inspired.

btw I like Southampton. I was there for 4 years when I was at the university as a student and I would've liked to stay on but it didn't work out that way. Haven't been back for years though so I expect it's all different now.

I felt same about Edinburgh, after 4 years B.Sc., I just didn't want to leave but in 1975 there were no jobs there for a chemist, other than teach which was a no-no

So life changed forever when I emigrated to England, and no regrets. Smiley

Wish I'd got up earlier this morning. There was a beautiful frost in our back garden. By the time I'd got up and and got dressed, and remembered, it was mostly gone, but grabbed this on of our little holly bush. 15 years and never bore fruit Undecided

John, it could be that it's a male holly bush: http://www.bbc.co.uk/gardening/plants/plantprofile_holly.shtml

Here's one I took from my garden yesterday morning:

Blimey IGI is that colour genuine? Amazing Shocked It seems to have been grey and murky here for ages, not very inspiring photographically speaking. Mind you, I've been getting up too late to catch dawn so it might have been as spectacular here as yours.

Yep, all I did to it was to reduce it's size to post here. It's in stark contrast to the past few mornings where it's been quite pale/misty and was such a blaze of colour I had to nip outside to take a snap!

Fabulous sunrise IGI. I'd need to walk down the road behind the pub to see something similar, might try it during the hols.

Hard frost again tonight!

Nice pictures, John. We had no frost here this morning, but plenty of fog and black ice: I almost went flying (no, not the sort that involves check-in) on the way to the shops. Shocked

Not a very good day for photography I'm afraid but I went out snapping nevertheless. This is the best I could mange which shows very clearly the rear edge of the cold front which moved across the country today, replacing the rain with clear skies. It actually appeared as an arc right across the sky but I couldn't include the whole thing in my pic. This is Bartley reservoir and the group of trees on the high point is Frankley Beeches - I've posted several pictures taken there and from there before.

Here's one I made earlier: yesterday's sunset - one of a set of over a hundred. The tide was very high, the swell large and the light fantastic, although it was a touch nippy for ninety minutes' shooting....

I'm trying to get into Photobucket to show you some Lapland photos but it is unbelievably slow!  Perhaps it's like a watched kettle - I'll go into it again and go away and make a cuppa or something... Roll Eyes

There'll be all those kids with their new phones and cameras uploading to their sites for their mates and family to see, Mills: one of the busiest days of the year!
