To continue the subject, the tree just over the road from my home, snapped this morning as I realised the leaves were really starting to fall.

OK: a tree which has already lost its leaves, and a road. Does that continue the theme?

Some autumnal shots from my walk up to school this morning. I was quite surprised to see blackberries still around in November.

Very nice, IGI. But school? Today? Sunday?

I know! I often go in to finish off some marking, as I did today, or prepare a few things for Monday. I find you get more done when nobody else is there!! (and it's only a fifteen minute walk...)

But IGI, you must know never to gather blackberries before a frost because they have the Devil's spit in them!

Tis only the frost that kills the larvae lurking.  And that be true.

Exits stage left, tugging forelock.

And I've got a table here at home covered in work that needs marking but I'm on this pc instead of getting on with it...and I need to cook a meal now too! I agree though, school's lovely when there are no kids around!

Have a good week - may the OfSTED inspectors keep away...Our inspection is imminent, long overdue - it's like an axe hanging over our heads...  Roll Eyes

Planning all sorted now, but a few things to prepare; we've recently had interactive whiteboards installed and are getting to grips with what it can do...very useful indeed for co-ordinates and shape work, saving awkward manipulation of cut out shapes on OHPs which the children can't really see that well, but working out what all the little tools are is time-consuming too.

We are also due the big O at some point this term, having come out of Special Measures a year ago. Let's hope we are both spared a visit for now. Have a great week!  Smiley

I'd never heard that before, in all my years of blackberrying, Anna! This is another interesting twist: http://www.cottagesmallholder.com/?p=466 Thankfully, no blackberries were picked today. (Am making a plum crumble instead!!)

Back to photographs in a mo, but just registering solidarity with IGI and MJ - I spent most of today marking orchestration exercises!  Sad

On account of us being God Fearing Souls?

And would ye be having custard with said plum crumble my fine young gennulman?  Well, you do as know what is said about plums what is plucked afore the 5th of November (or Saint Guido's Night) don't you?

Oh yes! Unlike George, custard is still very much on the menu!  Cheesy (http://r3ok.myforum365.com/index.php?topic=807.msg17772;topicseen#msg17772)
