Cheers Mort, And they wonder why arthritis is so prevelent when we can't see our hands before our face Exits stage left, groping through the mist in an exaggerated fashion. (As is my wont) Eeek! Appears to have groped a Member. Exits stage right, blushing madly but cherishing the memory .... This is one taken in between the two

That one's really lovely, cariad. Is that as big as it gets? It would be nice to see it blown up a little more. How many megapixels has your camera got?

t-i-n, Without wishing to appear in any way salacious, I wonder whether perhaps another sentence in my post might also be of use in certain circumstances? Your parenthesised conclusion seems rather reminiscent of a Woody Allen movie, somehow....

Ron, I don't know about the megapixels, it was a series of photos taken by a friend (who now lives in Japan), we had a whole weekend when we were totally submerged in the mist so I have no idea what his camera was. Only just learnt how to post pics, no idea as to how I could get it larger. This is one of my late, lamented, cat. It was taken with an old fashioned non-digital Chinon. Not sure why it's come out bigger than the other ones

I've got my own photobucket now Ron (there's Posh!) Still don't know about resizing - should I do it in PhotoEditor or something?? Doesn't seem to be any facility on PB. What sort of size should I make them? Thinking of getting a digital camera, much as I like my old Chinon. How many megapixels are on your cameras? And as you like trees, here is one of our Native Species

Nowadays, don't even think of going below 5 megs: there are a good many 7s about at very decent prices too. If you can find one that you like at a good price that has more than a 3x optical zoom which you're happy to carry, go for it: the extra magnification is always really useful. My wee camera and the medium sized (with which I took the Aber photo) are both 5 megs, the big camera is a 10 meg beasty, but that's all but semi-pro, and hefty.
The little 5 meg one is waterproof too, useful when I'm tramping the hills if it gets wet. The only other advice I'd offer is to try and get one that uses AA sized batteries rather than a proprietary rechargeable, which will cost a huge amount to replace: rechargeable AAs are not at all expensive, and if the worst comes to the worst you can always have a back-up set of non-rechargeables, or even buy them in an emergency: there'd be no chance of carrying on if non-standard batt. were to give out unless you were carrying a charged up spare - you can't buy them ready charged, and Dough's first law of photo frustration is that even if you do have your camera when you see a chance for the shot of a lifetime, the battery will be dead or you didn't put the film (or memory card) in.

In fairness, it is my first foray into digital cameras, but I've been so impressed with the photos you, Andy and others have posted here that I could well go for something bigger and better.

Cheers Ron, I'll have a look on the Net at the weekend. I must admit my trusty old Chinon is, well trusty, but then you pay for a roll to be developed and maybe just one decent shot (I must admit I really like my one of the cat), also it is bulky to carry around. As for the tree photo, well down by here, seeing as we is all Druids, we go in for tree wrapping a lot. In fact we dance around them reciting Iolo Morganwg. (No, of course we don't) Here are the three trees (the white one right on the end) There is a totally amazing one outside of Cardiff, in French Blue with scarlet dingle dangles.

This is one of my late, lamented, cat. Absolutely gorgeous, A the T L. What was her (his?) name? I've resisted putting pix of my cats here so far...here's a link instead: Well, I was going to post the link to my Cats photos on the Archers Lockin but now none of the pix are visible. So, cat-haters, scroll on by - here are Zoe (yawning) and Katie:

OK, try this one as a replacement for number 3, pretty much the finish line for the Boat Race.
