I thought that Uncle Sydney, in his new rules, said if you don't post the original posted Puzzle with your answer you lose zillions of points?

Stand by your beds, Boys  Cheesy

Mr Grew has agreed that answers need only be posted alongside a puzzle number; there is no need to use the quote boxes...

We suppose that quoting the "Reply #" will be sufficient? Or should we always employ the quote boxes?

We see here potentially a fine opportunity for Members desirous of garnering negative Points to do so!

Exactly - say no more.

IGI - who was the dodgy pianist on the Gottschalk (223) ?

It was Philip Martin on Hyperion!

Eugene List wins hands down!

Are you quite sure you are alert, Anty. If so,which messages on the Test thread do you think are in danger of losing points for their author(s)? I have not noticed any dodgy ones  recently. Wink

It appears I've been a naughty boy in setting questions from the operatic repertoire. Clearly I didn't scrutinise the rules closely enough, and must be punished. As long as it doesn't involve anyone coming round to break my windows, I'll accept the penalty stoically ...

Thanks for the "previous answers" links, Sydney! Very useful for those of us who can't keep up.

I actually thought from his message that even he was getting bored of trawling through the previous messages just to find the original puzzles (even when numbered in the reply) whereas the reply # of the original puzzle would have saved much trawling.

Although exactly to what his 'exactly' referred we were always somewhat unsure.

Great Progressive Table of Members' Points:

Mr. Sudden: 13,197

Mr. sudden: 396

We presume one of these Messrs Sudden to be erroneous?

Or has all this royal we-ing exacted a terrible toll upon us?

May we just say that we are rendered nearly destitute of the power of speech by the extent of Member Sudden's familiarity with the repertoire in all its ranges? The next puzzles we present will be very much obscurer!

Pure chance Mr Grew!

We simply happened to have performed two of the works and the third is among our favourite breakfast pieces (partly because some of Rameau's invigorating music for Castor et Pollux follows it on the disc)...

Have we then killed off sendspace? It does seem so at the moment.

Further to the matter of Martinu as conducted by James Conlon, Bryn, you (and indeed anyone else) could do a lot worse than this

which contains three of his most impressive orchestral pieces (the aforementioned Toccata e due canzoni, Double Concerto and Les Fresques) plus three other quite interesting things.

A fair little collection, but not currently in the catalogue, leading to somewhat inflated prices.

However, I see the first of the two discs in that album has been issued separately, so there may be some hope of a future re-issue of the second disc, too.

I am lost.

I would really appreciate a separate thread that specifies the current rules in one post.

I would also appreciate a separate thread that lists the posting rulings, member table, and recent puzzles.

So, could we have:

Test:  Snatches and Answers
Test:  Post Scores, Member Table, and outstanding snatches
Test:  Discussion
Test:  Current Rules
Test:  Record of Snatches (a catalogue of puzzles set to date)

I would also love to know when I can play my joker....  Wink
