Gosh, Baz. No idea! Sounds well out of date, whatever it is.  Roll Eyes

(BTW that's strina's points tally, not mine. Although I'm doing a fine job of abyssing myself still further tonight.)

I'm running out of early 19th century-ish Italian-ish virtuoso violinist composers for 25.

Lolli?

Pichl?

Dittersdorf?

Stamitz?

Bull?

Sauret?

Schraedieck?

Phew, after this I may have to give up.

Baz, I have a hunch Puzzle 30 is Butler's Jazz MachinesRoll Eyes

Mr. Dish, as you surmised, Puzzle 27 is not Beethoven.
George, no, 28 is not Tapiola either (but close!)

No, Richard, it's not Paganini's No.3....neither is it No.4. It's not No.5, nor No.6. I think, therefore, you can be assured that it's not a Niccolò Paganini Violin Concerto!  Wink

Aha, I just read this more carefully.  I think it must be a piece for violin and orchestra by Paganini that's not a violin concerto.

Like, hmm ...

Polacca con variazione in A

Variations on "O mamma, mamma cara"

Introduction and variations on "Non più mesta" from La Cenerentola

I palpiti, introduction and variations on "Di tanti palpiti" from Tancredi

This is more like it, I think!

Puzzle 31 is here.

Tommo

Wild stab here, Tommo. Is it Hindemith's Quartet, for clarinet, violin, cello & piano?

No correct responses there, strina!

Correct, Mr MacRae.

Give yourself some points (or wait for Mr Grew to do so)
