I just look out of the window and decide whether or not it's raining , then dress accordingly.

My daughter always takes an umbrella if they predict sunshine and visa versa.

I have given in and started wearing my jacket when I go out. I find it's too cold to go out without one. Seems strange that up to two weeks ago the city seemed full of people in flip-flops, t-shirts and shorts. It was like being in Durham...

It's been lovely here in York today - and we had a day off so that was even better!

I'm posting this here because I daren't tempt fate and put it in the Happy Room. (Didn't someone, IGI?, start a 'Cautiously Optimistic But Not Wanting To Tempt Fate' thread? That would have done perfectly but I can't now find it.)

I'm cautiously optimistic because yesterday was finally the day the second lot of roof repair people came. They had an air of knowing what they were doing about them and seem to have done a good looking job, not that I would really know one way or the other. So, I'm happy cautiously optimistic that the leak in the roof has been dealt with at last.

What I want to do now is test it with a healthy downpour. But not a flippin' drop all day! Where's the rain in this country when you want it? Angry

In another part of the country that doesn't want it, of course. Goodness gracious, GG, you've been living here how long?

We've a right weird loking sky tonight. Grey with red streaks going across. Anyone know what this is called?

I went to Kidderminster today for some cricket as the forecast didn't look too bad. They began at 1030 but it started to drizzle and by 1130 it was heavier so they went off. I stayed expecting it to be a brief shower but it wasn't. I gave up waiting in the end. Looking at the radar maps there seems to have been just one area of rain around here - guess where it was Sad
