It feels a bit cooler here today after yesterday's downpour. Don't know if we had any more during the night - if so, I didn't hear it - but I had to shut the bedroom window when I went to bed just before 1am because there was a police helicopter hovering somewhere nearby, also someone was playing music, not that close to me but still audible Angry

Edit: just run the BBC weather map sequence and there was a mass of rain over Brum c3am - well I didn't hear it.

Did I sleep through all the rain and thunder last night, or did it just not arrive here Huh The pavements are dry, no rain drops on plants, although it does feel cooler out there. None of which explains why there were 4 slugs in the kitchen this morning, one of which I stepped on. In my BARE FEET!  Shocked ARGHHHHHHH. I was quite impressed at the speed of my vertical takeoff.
Oh yuck, you have much sympathy from me!   Shocked  Shocked

(Ha ha, I clicked on the roll-eyes smilie first by accident. That would have looked sympathetic wouldn't it?  Cheesy)

Certainly should by rights have arrived there, Mort. There was a huge downpour in Croydon from about 1am, but no proper thunder.

there were 4 slugs in the kitchen this morning, one of which I stepped on.

Glad it's warm and sunny in London, as I'm heading to Holland Park Opera this evening! Sunny here in Winchester - must get some gardening done soon, despite the temptations of the Test match on tv.

Cool, cloudy and intermittent heavy rain here on the North West coast.  Very welcome too.  Don't need to water the garden today.

I have to say that although the day started looking rather wet and cold, it has been warm and clammy here in Eccles. I wore shoes and socks and carried a coat.. I wish I had worn my usual sandals !!!

Mort, I have been kicking the duvet on and off for nights now! Just can't get the temperature right. Neither can Mistress Martlepuss.

Mortpuss has forsaken me (cats can be heartless beasts Cry) and decamped to the topmost stair where he catches whatever breeze happens to be wafting through the window. Huh <sulking betrayed emoticon>
