Sound of knife tapping on a glass. Cough. Ahem, may I just draw your attention to the fact that there is new series of Dr Who starting tonight. For those who might be interested.  Just a thought.......

Woooohoooo! Just managed a bit of catching up with the Doctor yesterday, thanks to the troglodytes downstairs paying for us to have TV again. Still having mixed feelings about the insider jokes like the Doctor, in pj's and dressing-gown comparing himself with Arthur Dent.

OK, I've set the video. Thanks for the reminder Mort.

hh, Your piece looks very complicated. It will take a lot of time figuring out. What other instruments are in it?
flute (doubling piccolo), oboe (doubling cor anglais), clarinet (doubling bass clarinet), bassoon (doubling contrabassoon), horn, trumpet, trombone, percussion (small drums, cymbals and two pedal bass drums (sort of an invented drum kit), vibraphone and glockenspiel), piano, two violins, viola, 'cello and double bass.
It's the most ambitious (and the most complex) piece that I've ever written and it is a female dog to put on computer.

Wow that's quite an assortment. Shocked Does it have any nice, hummable tunes in it h-h?  Wink

It's funny you should say that, because the answer is yes.
During a week when I'm working on the piece, I'll often find myself humming away while mowing the lawn, showering or washing up. It's not the whole piece that I hum, and most of the tunes are completely obscured by the other five tunes that are happening at the same time, but it is melodic and lyrical.
At least that's what I think  Grin

Actually I think that five might be an underestimate for most of the piece...  Undecided

Night all.
I've got to that stage where I'm almost too tired to go to bed.
But not quite.

Can't think why...  Kiss

Just giving advance warning of my absence for a week.
I know you won't miss me, but I thought you might like to know that you can take the absinthe out of the rhododendron bushes without fear of the consequences until the Tuesday after Easter.  Wink
I hate packing to go away, but it's nice when it's all ready to go.
