That is quite possibly the most disturbing image I've seen for some time.  And it's come up against some pretty hefty competition considering that we've just spent the weekend researching horror costumes by looking at stills from zombie movies.  And considering the fact that the other half's operation wound has gone septic.  And the fact that he's been making fake wounds with stage make up as well.

I'm still more disturbed by that picture.

When I got in this evening Pixie had been sick on the towel she sleeps on on her armchair. It appeared to be her dry mix, almost undigested, no hair that I could see. Is this normal or is it something to worry about?

Glad you found your moggy safe and sound Mort.

Try not to worry too much, Andy, cats are sometimes sick for no apparent reason. Sometimes they bolt their food down too fast. Was there any grass visible? Cats eat grass as an emetic but I'm not sure why. Though I suppose you'd have mentioned the presence of grass. Just keep an eye on her and if she seems well there's nothing wrong.

Andy, Mistress Martlepuss sicks up fairly regularly, usually after bolting food (when she rushes in after an exciting adventure outside, for example, and needs to pretend to eat all the creatures she failed to catch). It's always the dry food - probably because she hasn't drunk enough, so retches becuase it gets caught in her gullet. Nothing to worry about, I should think. If it becomes a regular habit, then worry.  Wink

Thanks cat-lovers. Most of what she sicked up appeared to be the healthy Iams - she'd emptied her Whiskas bowl - so perhaps she was trying to tell me that she likes junk food? This is the first time she's done this.

A cat that we used to have was always sick first thing in the morning, usually at the foot of our bed.  We then put her on a more bland diet and she was ok.  It turned out she had hairball gastritis but she was ok after that.
The other cat I have known well is rarely sick although he has an aptitude for eating black grass (you know, the ornamental stuff).

99% of the time our cat is ok. he onyl is sick with firballs, which isnt all that often, inside the house anyway. Perhaps he does that outside more. At the moment. since being back from holiday, he has been like a shadow!! Which can be a bit bothersome at times.

Be thankful not covered in the foul-smelling black gunk that Katie's white under-carriage and legs are sometimes coated in when she's been down in the nearly-dry-but-not-quite ditch in the summer. Now that's really yukky! Impossible to clean her as all claws come out when you try to assist her but I don't like her licking it all off when she washes herself. And even when we do manage to catch her and remove some of it she's still filthy. Zoe stays much cleaner but often has a patch of oil on her back where she's rubbed up against a car.

This is my cat Tessa - I've had her now for 19-and-a-half years!... She prefers ticking clocks.

She's adorable. 19 1/2 years? Wow. Obviously you've cared for her well. I'd guess she's into Bach too. She just has that look.

Cats can live such a long time. One of mine lived to nineteen, like Tessa, others to eighteen. My cousin had a cat that lived into his twenties.

It was her brother Tim (the same age) who was more into Bach, but he only survived to last December! She seems much more affectionate now she's alone.  Smiley
