Thanks all for your good wishes....I'll keep you posted.

Lover-boy has to sell his house & farm, and has a buyer, but you know what buying & selling is like. Watch this space ! My soon-to-be-ex has agreed a price on our place...so we're winning, it's just a helluva process.

Jan's man is not a Scouser....he originates from Portsmouth, but has been in Cornwall for 40 years. xx I've only been here 16 yrs. xx

Janthefan,
Congratulations from me too. I am so very happy for you. This are beautiful news from you and I am happy too because of that.
I am late with my response now because I am busy with remodeling.
I will have to move the wardrobe to the shed and then buy new furniture.
They I have to buy curtains and things for the bed etc.
I am so excited. I have never done anything like that before.
I always accepted the decoration that was in the house and I was never in a position to redecorate. I am learning a lot from my friends.
We are in this house six years now and this it the longest we have been in any place.
The room is painted in two colors: warm white and cream white (deeper color) and there is a white mording in the middle and there is a skirt down before the floor. The room is light, bright and cheerful.

When in doubt, wash.

Happy to read your good news Jan. Hope it all goes smoothly.

Great to hear that you're decorating at last t-p. I know you've been looking forward to doing this. With your determination and enthusiasm I'm sure it'll go well and look wonderful. Have fun.  Grin

A few more paychecks and I may consider something similar. But I will have to insist on at least having a connecting corridor between shed and bedroom. Winter gets cold here.

Hello SusanDoris.  I'm usually happy too, existing as I do in a little disney-world of buttercups and daisies, dicky birdies, cherub-like children and cutesy animals...until reality hits me of course...which is several times a day.  I always manage to blank it out pretty quickly though and go back to the world of bambi and Tinkerbell.

Pretty little dicky-birdies.. see G-major Fugue, book II

Robins nesting directly beneath my window for the second time this year. The babies have just hatched out, and every few minutes there's this squeaking noise whenever food is served. I do hope they like Brahms.

You've probably caught them young enough, eruanto. They must have heard it in the egg as well. I wonder if their song will be influenced?

I think I may have a second brood of blackbirds, judging by the amount of food the adults manage to stuff in their beaks. They must be feeding more than themselves.

Quite happy having just come back from a successful bat watching expedition. Strange rather tragic things. I never tire of 'em. Also, before the light went, a second (I assume) brood of tiny mallard ducklings on the lake all doing running high jumps in different directions to catch gnats. Cheesy

There were some absolutely gorgeous horseshoe bats on tv tonight.  It was a brilliant programme altogether - there were leather-backed turtles in Wales, mountain hares, an adder or two, those lovely bats....just my sort of programme!

Are you all still checking for rat droppings?  I'm sure that can't be true can it?  My mother reckons that her porage oats often have mouse droppings in them and that they come to the surface when she mixes them with liquid!  She says how could they possibly prevent mice getting into wherever the oats are stored and processed and she makes it seem quite plausible.  She doesn't eat them of course - but YUCK!
