Where was my peppercorn dossier on Monday morning, George? Angry

Oh, rats. Sorry tinners. It turned out to be a larger task than I had envisaged. I have however drawn up an action plan, with phased target completion dates and allocated extra resources and...I have been under a lot of stress recently. And checking for rat poo isn't that easy you know. The whole thing leaves a nasty taste in the mouth.

George, the 22nd one from the left on the 65th row looks well-dodgy to me.  Shocked

All is forgiven, George. I've been feeling rather pressurised too (and martle, I wish I had finished something this morning but the strange noises were cries of frustration rather than joy, I'm afraid ...), and don't seem to be getting anywhere quickly, so I certainly hadn't finished what I was hoping to have by Monday morning. I take it you haven't had your chance to go out and get rat-arsed yet, either. Neither have I if it's any consolation.

I've just managed to commit to Microsoft Word a nearly acceptable draft of the first 1887 words of what's supposed to be a 2500-word article, which means there's some way to go, but at least it's progress, which is more than could be said for yesterday or Monday.

So I'm not exactly happy, but a tiny tiny bit happier than I was.

Quite happy having just come back from a successful bat watching expedition.

Why the euphemism, George? Plenty of men take off to watch cricket. It's nothing to be ashamed of. Unless Mrs.G. disapproves of course.

No, I'm not a complete idiot. I'm only a halfwit. In fact I'm actually a catfish.

I beg to differ T-P. I think this is a snake trying on an oversize helmet.

Tonight's programme was nature in the raw.  Peregrine falcons catching pigeons, wild cats in Scotland catching rabbits.   Sad   The highlight for me was watching wonderful barmy Brian Blessed enthusing in his own inimitable way over a pair of Great Crested newts.

The programme is called "Saving the Planet" by the way.

Here's a random happy thought.

One of the greatest pleasures of living where I do (Tinternet country) is that at the age of 45 I am still called "our kid" by the neighbours!

That wasn't what they called the person you are named after.

More random happy thoughts:

1) It's not raining at the moment and I have been able to put some washing out on the line, something that always gives me a primitive housewifely satisfaction simply not provided by a whirring machine, not to mention being better for the environment.

2) My Benjamin Britten rose (as on my avatar) has more flowers this year than I have ever seen before. It's covered, and lots more are in bud. I can only assume it likes rain.

3) I'm back in the Happy (-ish) Room.

Mary, I don't know if you've seen this clip before, but it is especially from me to you on this happy, sunny day.  Cheesy

I'm sure the afore-mentioned clip is presented by a very young Jonathan Miller.

Grin Grin I've seen it before, Milly, but it is absolutely brilliant and I can't see it too often, so thank you very much! It is Jonathan Miller.

It's good to find you in the Happy (-ish) Room, Mary.

We've just had the whole of Britten's Rejoice in the Lamb as the anthem at Evensong (which was, ahem, why I went) so I'm a joyous little bunny for a while.
