Oh! I see!
I'm just hoping that I'll be able to afford to be within walking distance of Edgbaston when I do move.
Harborne or something... We'll have to see.

Harborne is pretty expensive as well. This is the High Street btw but I expect you recognize it hh.

When I got in at 7:30 last night and began preparing dinner, I allowed myself a little thought about how things would be different if I lived in Birmingham... That made me happy with the thought that one day...

I know the feeling!  Wink

There are wrens in the garden:

They make a lot of noise very early in the morning, but they are so sweet I forgive them Smiley

does it have a title at this stage?
Bravo Ernani! Well done indeed and every reason to feel elated!

Come publication time, or before, do give us a few more hints on details and title.

No firm title as yet (have to see what my publisher says), but will let you know as and when. Thanks to everyone for their good wishes too - there are some very kind people on this board  Smiley

Mary, wrens are my absolute favourite in the garden, they are so gorgeous!! The song is , in my opinion amazing for such a little bird.

Yes, it seems impossible, doesn't it? Much more noise than bird! (Nice noise, I hasten to add - except perhaps at 4.30 in the morning.)

I sincerely hope that you will not do anything so silly, h-h.

Remember the famous story of the young bull and the old bull in the field? The next field was full of cows, and someone had left the intervening gate open by accident.

"Hey", says the young bull. "Let's run over there and, er, make love to one of those cows".

"No" replies the old bull. "Let's walk over there and, er, make love to them all".

And the moral of the story: don't restrict yourself to one when you can have lots.

[Perhaps "moral" is not quite the right word here.   Grin ]

The Emperor suspected they were right. But he dared not stop and so on he walked, more proudly than ever. And his courtiers behind him held high the train... that wasn't there at all.

Now, does this make me happy? The Spalding Bulb Company have offered me a free gift with my next order. It is:

HAPPY, THE GARDEN GNOME, WITH HIS ENCHANTING LAMP!

Oh dear, I can't imagine anything more likely to make me place an order elsewhere  Grin Grin Grin.

Mary, if you don't want Happy, can I have him?
