Hi again, it is a very good box set, he certainly plays very well and has the technique to deal with things like the transcendentals without effort.  I can't say i've heard the whole set (it's not one i own) but i have heard assorted recordings from it via the library and what i have heard is excellent!  Happy lisztening...
That is all the recommendation I need, thanks... I'll be back with some comments eventually.

Perhaps we can say 'hello' in due course, as we missed each other at Ian Pace's Messiaen recital.   Wasn't it stunning?

Indeed it was!
I did try and look out for you but obviously wasn't paying full attention having had a very long day, that day as i moved house and had been driving a van about in York and out to my old house several times!

A,
Have a great time in Devon/Cornwall....send me a personal message if you want to meet up - I'm around all week, no hard feelings of course if it doesn't fit in with you.
(I'm near Truro, but could travel a bit).

Sorry to say the forecast is a bit iffy, but there's lots to do.

Have a great break.

I'm in Berlin, catsitting as it happens. Then we shall go out and enjoy ourselves.

There's nothing like a night on the tiles. Enjoy!

Thanks for all the good luck! Kiss Kiss Kiss I hope your move will go ahead very smoothly, IGI.

I've just posted my offer of over 80 gardening magazines to my local Freecycle - I wonder if anyone will want them. I'd offer them here in The Garden Shed but they're not worth the postage. I had to sort them all out so I could give titles and approx dates - of course I started reading them! I normally take stuff to charity shops but they probably wouldn't want such a quantity of old magazines and they might end up in the recycle paper bin. At least this way they'll probably be taken by someone who will read them and then Freecycle them again. Smiley

All now happily rehomed - one lot to a local gardening lady, the rest to a secondary school teacher who travelled quite a distance for them. She's set up a school gardening club and needs gardening mags for research projects, posters etc. I'm so pleased to have helped a little with this.

I joined Plymouth Freecycle earlier this evening on my dad's behalf as he has some things he'd like to offer but doesn't have a computer. Lots of friendly emails started pouring in from the Plymouth area and it was only then that I realised I had joined Plymouth Massachusetts Freecycle... Cheesy Cheesy Cheesy

Is it happy or grumpy post, trj?

I am happy because I just washed my car. I hope rain will come and finish rinsing it. Where is rain when you need one?
I am sure one will be here soon.  Cheesy

I also finally refilled cartridge for my printer. Now my computer is fast, I have a printer I can use and for now at least our shower works. Hopefully people from Grumpy room (George and t-i-n) will join us here very soon.

I am sure something else will need maintainance soon, but it is not good to think about it.  Cheesy

He was joking about me inadvertently joining an American Freecycle instead of the UK one... Cheesy

Tentatively happy about my moving plans...looks as thought I could be back on track for buying rather than renting. Which is a relief as none of the houses I've viewed so far for renting was really suitable. One viewing today was by chance as I'd stopped the car by an unoccupied house I'd seen advertised and the owner happened to be leaving, having checked up on it so she asked if we wanted to view it. It's a wonderfully spacious house with a lovely big garden, in fact it seemed perfect. We were upstairs viewing the last bedroom when I remembered to ask "Is it OK to have 2 cats here?" "NO!!!" was the instant reply. So that was that. Fortunately, later on it then seemed likely that I can buy after all.

Hmm, a lot of owners of rented houses claim to be allergic to cats...Why can't they just admit that they don't want their lovely new carpets and wallpaper ripped to shreds by feline claws?  Cheesy

I don't understand this line in MabelJane post. Is it possible to rent the house and buy it later? I heard people can buy pianos like that. They even count rent payments toward repaying the whole amount.

Sorry, tp, that was badly worded. I had been hoping to do just that, ie to rent the house I wanted to buy until I had the funds available to buy it, but the vendor wasn't keen to do this (he had once agreed to this idea back in April but then changed his mind and I had hoped he might reconsider it). So I was looking for other houses to rent but without much success. Now it is looking as though I can buy the house I was intending to (the money should be ready soon - at last) but it'll be touch and go whether I can do it during August (still a few more legal bits to do) and give myself a few days to settle in before I'm back at work (Sep 1st).
