When will they invent reliable teleportation devices? Then our woes with the public transit systems of the world will be once and for all behind us.
Well quite, Turfers. Some northern Prommers arriving at Kensington Gore, c. 2100Heisenberg compensators anyone?

Without going into any details, I have one thing to say about yesterday, and that is 'crap'.

D&mn! and Bl&ast! The teleporter was working perfectly when I put it into the time-machine with a view to sending it back to the point at which it would have been most useful. Then the cat stepped on the directional switch and sent it 2,900 years into the future where everybody will wonder who the H&ll! is throwing teleporters at them.

Scrap that. I'm going to make an omelette or similar. With the kipper. Tortilla perhaps? NOM.
Fry your onions until they're translucent, add some mushrooms until they're ready then throw in some sliced potatoes and chopped cooked kipper. Fry for a bit, then add beaten eggs (beaten with some cheese - I'm using hard goat's cheese here). Cook until the bottom is browned (though how you're supposed to know that I have no idea) and almost set in the middle. Turn it over by putting a plate over the pan tipping it upside down and then return the tortilla to the pan. Cook until completely cooked through. I'm going to steam some pak choi to eat with this. y NOM rah! y NOM rah!
Except you could end up making a mistake and overfill the pan. The bottom will burn and could stick to the bottom of the pan, and the centre won't set. It'll still taste as good but it'll take AGES!

I am fed up with having to put my avatar right. After having no trouble with it for ages, it's now changing all the time. Please don't tell me to do anything technical, because it will be in a language I don't speak. At the moment I just alter the forum profile.
Also, my computer is behaving very oddly. It keeps on just stopping and I can't even turn it off. Taking the battery out and putting it in again is the only thing that works. I can't live without it!

Mary, put your avatar onto photobucket, then link directly to it in your profile (I have my own pic) - I do that and have never had any avatar problems.
I'm feeling a bit grumpy because I knocked against my cassette deck when I was carrying a bucket of water out to the greenhouse and spilt some water onto it. I very rarely use it now, it's not even connected up to my hifi and was actually on an armchair, but I wouldn't want it to be ruined. I quickly removed the top and, although I could see a bit of water inside, it didn't look too much, so I'm hoping that no damage has been done.

Is it working, Andy? I think it is going to work if there was not too much water inside.

I once overwatered a plant sitting on top of a television...no chance of that ever working again!

My ankle is swollen and itchy and has a weeping puncture wound where some pesky blood-sucking creature bit me yesterday evening. Not a red ant this time as I was standing in the front garden chatting to a neighbour, and our red ants live in the back garden, where one bit my 15 year old yesterday. After my infected red ant bites of 2 years ago I'm keeping a wary eye on all the family's insect bites!
On a positive note, I rescued a beautiful red admiral butterfly from the conservatory today - after having said I'd seen very few butterflies this year, despite the buddleia flowering its socks off. Why can't mosquitoes and gnats learn to suck nectar instead of blood?
