What's a dandypratt?  It doesn't sound a very pc expression.

I learnt the term from Arnold, Don.  Wink

Well, Mort, I'm not sure since I'll be getting noshed up tonight at a birthday party (food's bound to be excellent, it always is in North Lunnon  Wink ). Tomorrow could go in a number of directions, most likely involving a trip to the hallowed Taj for some produce. A couple of nights ago I made a great curry with some of their mince, lentils and assorted yummies - quite mild, and cardoman-based. It scored fairly highly on the Nomometer.

Ah, Norf Lunnun Nosh. Can't beat it! Grin The next time that kismet leads me to Brighton I really must pay a visit to the Taj. There wasn't enough time left on my last visit Cry But there were more important matters to be dealing with Wink

Hope your birthday fodder is happy Smiley

Home-made fennel soup now bubbling gently here - with fennels from Taj, of course.

Of course!

As indicated, and feeling much better today, I popped up to Taj earlier and procured a very dinky small halal chicken which will be simply roasted and accompanied by rice 'n' beans and some greenery. And, the weather being as how it is, it may all be consumed on the beach. Or at least outside the house.  Smiley

I'm reheating some of my improvised dhal from the other day for dinner. Not terribly inspiring but it'll do.
I'm not very excited about food at the moment to be honest.

It's the Islamic equivalent of 'kosher', Anty. It literally means 'permissable', I believe.

But my chicken's got nothing to do with this guy, either way.

I just saw the opening of that (I was bored and looking for something to watch while eating) and was just so profoundly embarrassed I had to switch the tv off and listen to some music. But I suppose it's entertaining for some.

It's actually quite nice. The flavours have blended well since its last outing and although it's a bit hot now (could have done with some extra yogurt before serving I suppose) it's going down very nicely. Have started to plan the week's cooking now, which is a very good sign.
