I hate any form of cleaning....the worst thing of all is hoovering out the car !!!! puts me in such a foul humour.
I only do it about once every 5 yrs, I'd get another 20mpg if I dug all the sand out of the poor ole car!

UGH! The idea of wearing clothes full of squashed bugs, another good reason never to iron anything ever again. Thanks for that!

Well, I could offer my services at the going rate. £7.50  - £10 per hour, if anyone is interested.

Merely corroborative detail, intended to give artistic verisimilitude to an otherwise bald and unconvincing narrative.

Hey, Romania isn't Mordor.  And ghastly though Nicolae Ceauşescu was, he was too stupid to be the Dark Lord.

I notice the Shire is the Cotswolds.  I suppose Prince Charles may turn Highgrove into a barrow to put his furry feet up for a relaxing pipe some time.

What do you mean, 'pointless', Jonathan? Seems to me you have loads of interesting hobbies. I have none, really. Does there need to be a 'point' to knowledge beyond the pleasure in knowing and understanding stuff?

that not (...) a pleasure?'

Thanks Martle; I just seem to be a bit of an autolycus (I've probably spelt that wrongly) for information that seems of little relevance to most people.  (see my comment about the "Z factor" used for correction weight/volume calculations)

I think what annoys me is that if i didn't remember all this stuff, there would be more room for useful things such as shell names and music in my brain.  I just wish the human brain was a bit more like a computer sometimes so I could delete all the useless or unpleasant things and free up the space!

I saw two shooting stars last night
I wished on them, but they were only satellites
It's wrong to wish on space hardware
I wish, I wish, I wish you'd care

I don't want to change the world
I'm not looking for a new england
Are you looking for another girl?
