I don't want to...
I don't want to set the world on fire
I just want to start

Merely corroborative detail, intended to give artistic verisimilitude to an otherwise bald and unconvincing narrative.

Also loathe cleaning windows.  The smudge is always on the other side of the glass.

I wonder where, geographically, our members are Be quite interesting; you know if someone had the time tomdo a map, or soemthing.

I'm here:

Pluto once was a planet but as of August 24, 2006 it is now considered a dwarf planet. Cry

Must be a hell of a commute!

I think what annoys me is that if i didn't remember all this stuff, there would be more room for useful things such as shell names and music in my brain.  I just wish the human brain was a bit more like a computer sometimes so I could delete all the useless or unpleasant things and free up the space!

Didn't Sherlock Holmes say something about the place for facts being in books, leaving the brain free for thinking? I think I read somewhere recently that experts think the brain "refactors" itself with age, condensing connections to continue to store information, but making the storage more efficient.

Hi KB - yes, I think that's right (about Holmes)!  The brain goes through at least 2 refactoring phases, one at about 2 -3 years old and another at puberty.  It basically kills off the connections it doesn't use.  I don't know if there are any further events later in life which do the same thing?  Any neuroscientists here?
