And then try Mit dem Amphion zwar. My goodness that's a tune.

That was indeed the standout item on a first listening.

About an hour ago, child, dog and I stepped out for a nice walk, only to witness a 3-car pile-up on the way.  Sad

Usual story, line of stationery cars and one doesn't notice that everyone has stopped.  A Fiat Punto ran into the back of a Renault Megane which in turn shoved that into a Fiat Panda.

Or in joke terms - teenage blonde in Punto ran into blonde with one child in Megane and then into blonde with two children in the Panda.   Grin

One of the children, a little Jamaican girl, was complaining of head and neck-ache so I suggested they run her up to A and E in case of whiplash, although she was in a properly fitted child's seat with a head rest.  Nobody else complained of anything although I'd bet any money you like, everyone will be claiming for whiplash shortly. Wink

I helped everybody take all necessary details and mine because I witnessed it.  That's the trouble with me - once a legal secretary, always a legal secretary!

We then went for our walk which was very pleasant.  Dog exhausted, child run off feet and I - well let's not go there.  Roll Eyes

I've just had a peculiar moment looking at the profiles of three ex-girlfriends on facebook (no I am not a scary stalker, they were among other profiles at which I was looking) and thinking how pleased (I was going to say grateful but it looks rather desperate) I am that I'm still friends with them.

May be I should not write this post, because I am too excited right now and am not sure about my decisions. I already made public mistake on this forum recently.
I just want to express admiration for harmony/harmony that he is friends with his former girl-friends.

I think I would be too upset after break up to be friends. May be I am advanced in age, but imature.

Or may be it is generation gap or some falt in my phyche. It is good to be friends and not to keep bitter feelings for too long.

Hm. Interesting idea. I've been trying to track my own first love down for a while, we lost touch not that long ago, well, nine or ten years maybe, is that really "not that long ago"? I suppose eventually it's the twinkling of an eye. (sigh)

Gosh. If we're in wearing hearts on sleeves mode, I was surprised and delighted to get contacted by my first love (it lasted 2 months, I was besotted and then devastated when she gave me the boot) via Friends Reunited about 2 years ago. We exchanged two emails apiece, plus one photo each. Then it was kind of agreed without words that that was enough. Sigh, indeed...  Undecided

I often wonder what happened to my first love, but I don't think I really want to be in touch with him. I fell in love with his voice (speaking, not singing) at a party, before I'd even seen him. It didn't last very long, but it was important at the time - long ago. I certainly wouldn't have been happy with him for any length of time.

Well this is all rather recent for me. I'm a late bloomer evidently.
My first love dumped me a little over a year ago. You may remember...
Whether or not we're still in touch in 10 years time is still to be seen.

Oh but I do. All three of them. Even though we're still friends, there's something about that sense of closeness and understanding that aches through its absence. Hum. This is getting melancholy. Time for some ud.

Well I'm not in a hurry.
I'd rather meet the right person at the right time than go through too much silliness.

Um. Probably time to change the subject.

I have to go and wash up now anyway. Plus I've got that 'I've just had two beers and now my mouth feels like it's lined with moss' feeling.

What kind of beer was that exactly?

BBC4 is repeating the documentary about the Third Programme this evening ( High Culture for all in Postwar Britain ) Nothing remarkable in that, BBC4 is built on repeats after all. But I was a bit amazed by the complete lack of understanding shown by the blurb the programme is given in Radio Times..."Francine Stock narrates the story of the Third Programme, a high culture radio show launched in 1946, focusing on how the series influenced the British arts scene." Show ? Series ?
