I'm with Mary. I'm more than happy for 'Waffle' to be whatever is on our minds at the time and we feel like talking about and swapping thoughts on. A sort of cyber garden-fence. Sometimes serious, sometimes not, always friendly. I think it works pretty well.

Ah, Ron's just beaten me to it but I'll say it anyway. No, don't shut up, Mary. Or Milly for that matter. Waffle has indeed become a conversation thread and as such behaves much as conversations do in 'real life'. It goes off at tangents, one subject will lead on to another one and people chip in with their contributions.

The circumstances in which the Original Waffle thread was born at TOP were very different from the environment here. In fact it was the environment and it's restrictions there that caused Waffle to come into being. There was sense of 'Can we get away with this?'. And we did, giggling like a bunch of school children. It was enormous fun Grin Here I think  Waffle pops up all over the place. Those 'film scripts' were a moment of wonderful collective lunacy but they would have run out of steam eventually, actually I suspect they already had.

'Gordon Duck', muttered Esmerelda. 'So that's me pensioned off then. Hah, I'll go to Bollywood then. After all, tomorrow is another day!'.

Indeed: if all we were ever to discuss here were trivial matters, this thread would become devalued.

Just bought some DVD-Rs from Sainsbury's:

Why? Am I missing something here?! It gives a whole new meaning to 'burning discs'!

Well I suppose I was just looking at it as waffling on....but you're right Mary, definitely the wrong thread.  Perhaps the Mods could shift it over?

I didn't say it was the wrong thread! It was just a suggestion, if people were going to get upset by reading serious stuff here, but Mort and Ron have said sensible things, as usual.

A friend who was supposed to be coming this morning phoned to say she was running too late and couldn't get here in time. She's on her way to pick up a retired guide dog (as a pet) - she's been on the waiting list for some time. That will be her second huge golden retriever. I was only partly sad that she couldn't come, because she was bringing the first huge golden retriever with her, and I'm too kind to tell her it's smelly Smiley

Interesting idea that it should be devalued, but I can't find the threads where all this humour is supposed to be. We started this off for that purpose. It's ok, I'll just b***** off

That's a tad over-dramatic, A, surely?

Try here, for a start.
