I'm watching what has become my favourite Star Trek film, the first one.
Admittedly it's pretty naff but it is certainly (in its revised version) the film with the best pacing.
That moment when the klingon ship just disappears is great.

As I said:
I think I need some brain pap tonight.

Listening to Kagel tonight would involve too much thinking.
I'm planning to listen to some tomorrow.

Noted, BBM. I might well pop along to that (only 7 minutes' walk from my house, after all!).

I doubt I'll be able to make it - I've got another Antipodean in-law here for the weekend, who needs to be looked after (and who is unlikely to be interested in hearing a band, sadly).  But all the best for the gig.

I think I want to eat something but I don't know what that thing is, or whether I even have any of it in my flat.
Does anyone else ever have that?

Les Patterson would be messier, but more entertaining.  Sad

A cup of tea with toast and cold leftover curry seemed to hit the spot.
I've taken some blue cheese out of the fridge to warm up in case I want that too later.
I'm bowing a piano tomorrow...

You have not. I am bowing a piano tomorrow.
It's in a piece by a composer called Kirsten Broberg, whom John Adams hath y'clept 'a genius' apparently. There are six strings threaded around specific strings in the piano (I assume that they have rosin on them or something) and then during the piece three of us use them to make the strings resonate. I've seen it done before and it can be quite effective. The score looks like it's going to sound generally quite delicate so I'm quite looking forward to hearing the total effect.
