I am disappointed that there are no more pieces written by great composers that were inspired by hair. That is because they used to wear wigs. Now there will be many compositions written with different types of hair (washed and conditioned in best salons). And no gray hair anymore, because one can have hair of different colours (including green and pink).
A girl with green hair - good title for a piece.

My mother bids me bind my hair, with music by Hadyn. Then there's Hair the musical.

Pelléas and Mélisande?

Samson and Delila?

Hair is pivotal to both plots...

There's

"Wenn ich im gelben Felde geh',
Seh' ich von fern das blonde Haar
 Im Winde wehn.
 O Weh! O Weh!"

from Mahler's Lieder eines Fahrenden Gesellen.

And the two Barbershop Scenes from 'Death in Venice':

'You fancy this oil, Sir? A delectable scent, Sir.'
'Grey? Oh, just a trifle ... Nothing ages a man like grey hair.'

Quite a bit of lotions and colouring going on there...  And apparently Herr Von Beck had a splendid head of hair.  Remarkable for someone in his middle years.

I use Fructis Garnier too.  Nice smell.

Can we extend our discussion of shampoo to other beauty products, like forexample, eye liners, blushes, foundations etc?

That might be dangerously off topic.  Sounds exciting.  How are the dudes here with exfoliants?  Seems exfoliants and moisturisers seem to be the main male beauty products that've caught on.  And, to a small extent, fake tan.

I am disappointed that there are no more pieces written by great composers that were inspired by hair.

Oh for more periwig-oriented ballades.

Would Blond Eckbert qualify, do you think? Was it his hair or his complexion?

A friend of mine recommended coffee grounds. I've forgotten what he recommended mixing them with, though.

Blimey! I`ve always associated coffee grounds with either slug slaughter or the Gerson Diet (you`ll have to look it up, I`m not going into the finer points here!)

Nature is great, think I may go live on a motorhome like my friend Alan so I can immerse myself in the countryside and awake to radio 3 in the mornings while enjoying a natural view in a kind of 'mahler would have liked this' way  Grin
