Just the latest corporate parasitical infestation, aren't they? Somehow they've formed an alliance with accountants (the previous bane) to have a combined stranglehold on every business they can possibly infiltrate.

Mort, talent management is indeed a branch of HR. Its role, apparently, is to "recruit and develop the next generation of leaders to help [this organisation] meet the challenges of the 21st Century ..." Moving desks would certainly keep such people harmlessly occupied 'Talent Management' is surely essential as a way of ensuring that talented personnel have their talents truly appreciated in today's modern and busy world... http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=OE6P-lwS0lQBaz

The American on
NO SOLICITORS
One presumes that the presence of barristers may be tolerated...
Best,
Alistair
It has also been alleged that a hotel in Thailand displays the sign, PLEASE DO NOT TAKE SOLICITORS UP TO YOUR BEDROOM.

An increasingly paranoid Govt in Beijing is evidently concerned that our antipodean single-reeder may be plotting to undermine the transport system for the Olympic Games. A warning at the transit railway for the stadium advises against the potential trouble-maker in no uncertain terms:

Government terrorism warnings re-interpreted. Apologies if this has been posted before; it's pretty humorous, but also pretty old. Warning: may be mildly offensive, contains a smattering of slightly rude language (i.e., sh*t) and a smattering of American pop culture references.

Seen on the side of a Cardiff bus: (Photo of smiling bloke): 'Buses are brilliant! They not only get you around town cheaply, they are great for meeting people. That's how I met my late wife!'

At every one of these [classical] concerts in England you will find rows of weary people who are there, not because they really like classical music, but because they think they ought to like it. (Shaw, Don Juan in Hell)

I do love the Savignyplatz area. I have a feeling I've been to the Wotan-Apotheke once for some zinc.
I've certainly frequented a very fine sheet music shop not far away in Kantstraße. (Watch how you pronounce that if there are Anglophones present.) Cantus 139 it's called. For retrospectively obvious reasons.

I was in Berlin for two days - which turned into three following massive air-traffic control failure on Thursday evening - and fetched up in the Savignyplatz on Wednesday evening. Great art bookshop under the S-bahn arches.
