But if TOP survives it could yet be the keel or rudder of the station. Very useful for the future.

I was banned from the Radio 2 messageboard in 2004. That didn't stop me from going back!

It's so easy to cheat the system over there because the BBC use cheap and tacky technology to run their messageboards!  Roll Eyes

Southendian has just posted a message re the operation of the new boards.  He describes the situation as being more INCLUSIVE.  This is odd considering that 80% of R3's output is EXCLUDED.  Furthermore the so called "Interaction" is not taking place on two of the Boards and is only really happening on one Board.  The word "codswallop" is flashing in front of my eyes.

Crop slashers are moving through the R3 mb suburbs as I write.

It gets more like '1984' / 'Alice in Wonderland ' every day: a new and interesting definition of 'inclusion' from Southendian. It's the Caterpillar, isn't it? ' A word means whatever I want it to mean'?

Still, the white Rabbit is on Feedback on R4 on march 9th and judging by the rumours, the Test bed team are doing a hell of a lot of research.

Be Afraid, Roger, be very afraid!

Ho!
The Moderators Prayer

To mod or not to mod: that is the question:
Whether ‘tis nobler to suffer things to be
(The slings and arrows of outrag-ed posters)
Or to take arms against a thread of troubles,
And by modding them – end them?  To lie, to creep
No more; and by a touch to say we end
The heart-ache and the thousand nasty shocks
That threads are heir to, ‘tis a constipation
Of the threads we wish.  To spy, then leap!

Only to be expected, of course, but a thread at TOP pointing out the obvious irony that R3's World Routes should have chosen to advertise and run an item concerning the Istanbul Conference on Censorship in Music last Saturday has itself been shut down. Talk about proving a point.......

Well, Smitz, what's to discuss? Though the CDM Elgar 1 would have generated a fair amount of discussion on the dedicated boards when they existed in the old days....

Can it be that this will stay so in the future? Under the current circumstances, there's no chance of big changes.

Surely TOP's new motto must be taken from Andria, by the Roman playwright Terence:

"NE QUID NIMIS"

(Habitually translated as)

"Moderation in all things......In all things, moderation."
