`twas a really lovely evening. It started with some mild confusion when Don Basilio `phoned me saying that he was in the forecourt, on his `phone to me with one hand held up. I did a quick scan of the packed forecourt, saw him and after some turn left, no, bit more, over here, NO, left! I`m waving!, contact was made.

In order of appearance (roughly)

Don Basilio
trj
Notoriously Bombastic
Martle
Autoharp (with all appalling cold)
Ollie (yay!)
Jstruthio
Marbleflugel
Richard
tinners
Ian
Ruth (with broken shoe)

Great evening. The last I heard. Marbs, Ruth  ollie, Jatruthio and possibly NB were heading in the direction of a Chinese restaurant. Richard, tinners and Mort, being good clean living sorts, consigned themselves to the mercy of the Northern and Circle lines in an attempt to get home. Richard suffered cruelly at the hands of the Circle line.

As for Martle and his mittins ... well that`s another story entirely, boys and girls Grin

Really nice to see you all, either again or for the first time.  Kiss Kiss

Very nice to see everyone, just about managed to make it back after a last-minute conspiracy by Transport "for" London to prevent time and me from reaching Liverpool Street. Let's do it again soon. (inside, maybe)

Let it never be said that Members are a bunch of sad wimps.

I expect you can imagine the situation in a pub near a major commuter station in London on a Friday night two weeks before Xmas, John. The outside part was heated though. (Until they wanted us to leave.)

Until Ian started moving the furniture around, somehow managed to turn off one of the space heaters in the process, tried to reignite it with a lighter but then decided against it on the grounds that it might explode and wipe us all out. What a waste of alcohol that would have been! Grin

Greetings all,

Bomb-da-bomb-da-bomb-da-bomb-da (it's receding)

Great to see you all again, and glad that my attempts at furniture rearrangement haven't led to us being barred for life from the place! Hope the late-night Chinese was good! I have a couple of pics, but they are so blurry that they aren't worth posting - anyone else take some?

Ian, what is it with you and cameras? (Mind you, I have approximately the same problems with keyboards, so maybe they're mutually exclusive accomplishments....Wink)

It was fun!

Richard, marbleflugel and autoharp had funny hats.
Ruth had a funny shoe.
Tinners seemed to be wearing only a tee-shirt (but that's just how I think of him, probably).
Ollie was, um, just like I thought Ollie should be!
Don B was HILARIOUS about his European adventures.
The smartest was NB - a suit and tie, no less!
Ian had a very nice 'friend' in tow...
trj bought generous rounds.
Mort awarded me some gold stars  Grin

With a bit of photo touch-up:

Just when you thought it was safe to go out:

(the eyes really did come out like that - that'll teach you to make underhand comments about hair loss, martle Wink )

Thank you for that, Ian: (all in all it's surely the scariest picture ever featured on this site).

Cripes Ian! Who are those two with the scarey light-up eyes standing at the end of the table?  Oh it`s ... Ah. Cough. Ummm. Ahem. Good heavens!, is that the time?  Must dash.

Edit.  Oops. Missed your `eye` comment at the end of the page Ian. I was so transfixed with horror Grin

On second thoughts, are you sure it's not a rehearsal shot from Reiner's new production of From the House of the Dead?
