Is it me or is that dragon a little small?  He probably could have slayed it by sitting on it!

I don't have any problems with people who have a faith, I just don't like it when they try to ram it down others throats (especially "Born Agains")

Early yesterday evening there was a knock on my front door.  I opened it, and met a neatly dressed young black man, who, with a charming smile, politely asked me to accept a flier for an event he was involved with.

I thanked him, took it and he left.

It was for some Jehovah's Witness jamboree.

He was the most gorgeous human being I have seen for some time.

He did  not offer to ram anything down my throat.

Pity...  Wink

Yeah; what's to be done with all these attractive religious people?  They tear one so, don't they?

does faith require worship? i have faith in the four horseman of the apocalypse, but see no need to offer them encouragement.
Agreed Calum. Just keep The Faith. There is no  reason to worship or curse your Nemesis.

Speaking as an attractive religious person, I've never torn anyone. I'm always very gentle.

I think it's rather evil of the Bishop of Carlisle to say that the floods are a punishment for our moral decadence. It's this sort of mediaeval thinking that makes rational people impatient.

Yes and anyway doesn't it say somewhere that after the big flood - Noah's - that God felt remorse and said he'd never punish mankind like that again?  Wasn't that the "rainbow" covenant?

the Bishop of Carlisle

Dead right, a major embarrassment.  I have been told that by a senior clergyman.

Something similar was said when York Minster was apparently struck by lightning in 1984.

Didn't someone say that the Aids epidemic was a punishment from God as well?

So, basically, unless we're all in perfect health and basking in perfect weather we're all being punished for something?

Ah, so people who live on flood plains are decadent while people who live on hills are not.  Roll Eyes

Or was God punishing people who don't insure house contents?  Tongue
