Oooh, neither I'm afraid, Anna. No other seasonal piece amongst the remaining three composers and no link to numbers.

Another composer? I was trying to work out my spring, summer, autumn, winter theory! I'll have to think again.
Just going back a bit. Near me, a company is putting on Goldilocks and the Three Bears as a pantomime, so perhaps Eric Coates could have been included with his Three Bears Phantasy (not to mention his Cinderella Phantasy).

Nice try, but no deal! The Strauss is one of his operas, however.

Keep looking for a connection. I might send in a final composer later on, who could help make the picture clearer...

Jupiter? There is a modern text to go with the Vivaldi's Spring, based on the tune of Jupiter. Strauss - Die Liebe der Danae - Jupiter was disguised as King Midas Britten - Oh God above all Praising Hymn (again tune from Jupiter) Milhaud - Abduction of Europa - the bull was the god Jupiter in disguise Holst - Planet Suite Jupiter

Crikey, that's good, Milly. It wasn't the connection I was after, but that's a great call! Have a sip of in anticipation! The Holst is from The Planets, but isn't Jupiter. The Britten is vocal, as is the Milhaud. Vivaldi – SpringMilhaud Britten Richard Strauss Holst – The Planets: ? Die Liebe der Danae is a lovely opera, btw, one of my musical discoveries of 2007!

Good plan... It could also be worth bearing in mind that Vivaldi was Italian. Not a link to heralds either, Tommo, so not Mercury. Vivaldi – SpringMilhaud Britten Richard Strauss Holst – The Planets...

Although she's not the connection, Venus could certainly lend you a hand for a couple of pieces here. (OK, perhaps this Venus can't lend much of hand... )
