It could also be worth bearing in mind that Vivaldi was Italian.

Vivaldi – Spring

Ah is there a planet reference in:

Quote
La Primavera Spring

Allegro
Giunt' è la Primavera e festosetti
La Salutan gl' Augei con lieto canto,
E i fonti allo Spirar de' Zeffiretti
Con dolce mormorio Scorrono intanto:
Vengon' coprendo l' aer di nero amanto
E Lampi, e tuoni ad annuntiarla eletti
Indi tacendo questi, gl' Augelletti;
Tornan' di nuovo al lor canoro incanto:

Largo
E quindi sul fiorito ameno prato
Al caro mormorio di fronde e piante
Dorme 'l Caprar col fido can' à lato.

Allegro
Di pastoral Zampogna al suon festante
Danzan Ninfe e Pastor nel tetto amato
Di primavera all' apparir brillante.

Strauss: Ariadne

Britten: Diana, Queen and Huntress from the Serenade?

There were a few alternatives you could have gone for:

Vivaldi – Spring from the Four Seasons  = La Primavera

Britten - Canticle IV: Journey of the Magi = The Adoration of the Magi

or The Rape of Lucretia  = The Story of Lucretia

Milhaud - Naissance de Vénus = The Birth of Venus

Holst – Venus and Mars from the Planets = Venus and Mars

R Strauss – Salome = Salome with the Head of St. John the Baptist

or Ariadne = Bacchus and Ariadne

Respighi – Three Botticelli Pictures (La primavera, Adoration of the Magi & Birth of Venus)

So, an artistic connection, so Milly's drawing board proved useful!

Thank you for that.  I've enjoyed giving my little brain some exercise whilst ironing and getting child ready for bed.  I'm a bit miffed that George beat me to it but I bow to his superior intellect and brain speed.  Kiss

Britten - Rape of Lucretia?

Oh yes Lucretia! D'oh, not Diana.

I still think your Jupiter connection was pretty Fabuleux, Millie. And I was uni- not multi-tasking as is the male wont.

It wasn't actually the Respighi that did it, IGI. In fact I still haven't worked that one out. And I was still hunting for a Persephone for Vivaldi's Spring so there was some way to go.  Cheesy
