Big round of applause for IGI!!!!!!

After you also get the other one, I'll try to make them a bit less fearful in the future (I thought you were going to get that one really quickly after you spotted the link early on - but some of the clues were deliberately contrived to try and slow you down!)

Blow
Palestrina
Ireland
B.A. Zimmermann
Charpentier
J. Strauss II

And another clue - think about when you were starting out......

Are we searching for days of the week?

Palestrina - Lamentationum Hieremiae Prophetae - Lesson I for Maundy Thursday
Charpentier - Tenebrae Lessons for Good Friday

Those were the lines along which I was thinking too, hence the Ireland. I'm wondering about books of the Bible - Lamentations of Jeremiah?

Ian said something about when the puzzle was set being important, hence the days of the week...but maybe we were meant to crack it on Friday? Could the Zimmermann be 'Die Soldaten' which is set 'yesterday, today and tomorrow'?
