We have settled snow, for the first time this year: not thick or patchy, but up-country has it far worse (and more to be expected).

If I could just leave my pyjamas on I certainly would.

We can rely on George to start us off on the day with a smile.  Thanks.  Grin Kiss

It's a bit parky oop north.  The wind seems to have dropped but it's very cold out and a gloomy grey aspect all told.  We're not letting it get us down here even though the house is going to be full of workmen for the next few weeks doing various alterations and improvements.  I had the decorator here for four days last week and I was very pleased indeed when he finished!  It's the unavoidable mess they make while they're working and sanding stuff down that is the pain in the neck.   Anyway, it'll all be lovely when it's finished.  Cheesy

I really must get a decorator in. Upstairs is not too good, but I just hate having them around, so tend to turn a blind eye until the situation becomes desperate.

I woke up feeling blackly depressed this morning, and have been doing boring necessary things like washing and changing duvet covers, just to keep myself occupied and to try to shut out the gloom. I will probably cheer up a bit as the day progresses, but I don't like anything at the moment.

You're right, it is very cold. My hands were frozen after I had struggled to put a king-size duvet cover on the line outside. If it now rains I shall scream till I'm sick, like Violet Elizabeth Bott.

I slept like a log last night - must've been due to all the running about yesterday in Leeds and Harrogate.
It's still really cold here and there is a strong wind blowing as well, just to make it feel even colder.  The cat has given up playing outside (he hates wind - probably because it ruffles his fur) and is asleep.

  The cat is asleep.

Sounds like a damn fine idea to me, Jonathan. My beasts are doing precisely the same. In the warmest spots they have been able to find. Typical Roll Eyes
