Here dogs just go by themselves for a walk. I never saw it in Wales or anywhere else.
I know dogs here in our estate. They are always running by themselves. But then there are dogs that are passing throgh or dogs that were just let go out.
I don't know about anyone who was bitten like me. I could not complain because the dog just went on its way. I could not follow it, could I?
There are probably laws that prohibit owners to let the dogs out by themselves, but no one cares.

The incident happened to me about four years ago.
In Wales my Polish friend told me that they could not leave the dog outside the house at night or they would have a fine to pay.
Strangely enough I am not afraid of dogs too much (unless they are aggressively coming at me). I don't know why that dog bit me. May be because I looked too directly at it.

That dog looked like a boxer cross to me. Those ears looked more like those of Doberman. The photograph has been edited out now but I know I saw it! Honest.

No Mort, that is a pure-bred boxer in the picture. Not crossed with anything at all. They tend to dock their ears like that more in the rest of Europe.  In Germany in particular, where they are sometimes used as police dogs, they're usually docked.  It makes them look more fierce.

In this country, they haven't docked ears for a very long time.  They've also stopped docking tails too, but unfortunately poor Dudley missed the deadline so he has no tail.   Grin

Horrible thing, 'docking', Milly. Seemed to take the powers that be a while to get round to stopping it here. Poor old Dudley Sad

It is illegal for a dog to be out by itself and not under control.   It is also illegal for them to foul the pavements.  However if the law is not enforced there's nothing you can do.  In this area they're very strict indeed and there is always someone named in our local evening paper for not cleaning up after their dog and fined by the Court. As this whole stretch of the Fylde Coast is a holiday resort we're better policed in that regard.

Hmm, I'm not quite sure why, but there's something about that sentence that has me looking nervously over my shoulder to see if Martle or Tommo are around Wink Cheesy Cheesy

No, you could not get up at 8.30 because it is 8.30 now and you are gone to your daughter already.

Where is Preston?
How did you meet? Was it by accident or by design?

Look on the map, it is pretty easy to find Preston.

It was commented that he was on a train... not likely they ACTUALLY met t-p, he was probably going at over 100mph

I think we all get pushed into being sarcastic and a little bit rude sometimes, don't we? It's understandable ...

A is far from the least caring member of this forum and I think it would be nice to worry a little bit more about her feelings sometimes, even if that means worrying a little less about certain other people's.

Thank you tinners.

I am sorry to upset the t-p fan club but I am actually sick of this hero worship.

I didn't realise that only a Russian who has lived on this side of the world for 30 years is the only one to feel pritty.
