Never noticed it before Bryn, but cut that one down the middle and pop a pair of specs on her and you could almost have a Separated at Birth...

Kitty, care to have a go? That's the sort of thing you do really well... Smiley

Hi folks: How does one paste an image into a message so it displays here?

I've got a file (JPeg or similar) that would be good to post here but I'm having no luck with the technology. It's a direct photo-image of a scrap from a newspaper.

I've tried copying the image directlly by right-clicking on the highlighted section in the incoming email that sent it to me (it's in the email, not an attachment), and I've tried saving the image in My Pictures and trying to export it from there.

As for the options in the 'Post reply' bit of this MB I've tried copying the file off my clipboard, and sticking it between the [ img ][ /img ] 'Insert image' button.

Nothing works! can anyone assist a low-tech idiot?

Just in case someone has posted it already it's a story from the Far East about a circus, a hippo and a dwarf. Ring any bells? Anyone keen to learn more?   Roll Eyes

The  [img] tags are where you would put the internet address of a picture that's up on the net already (usually ends with .jpg).  If it's not on the net already, then other people can write you more detailed instructions on what to do (I think r3ok have their own webspace on flikr where you can upload things if you know the SECRET PASSWORD); I've been typing all day; fingers are a bit fatigued.

FMJ, there's an r3ok account at photobucket.

A quick read of this thread should get you through the process. It can't be that complex, even I managed. (Make sure you read the last post, which is the current password for the account!) You can upload an image from your computer to photobucket and then post a link on the site here.

Have fun!

Well: it works as a link, but doesn't appear onscreen. I guess I pasted the wrong URL!

Though responding to PMs seem a bit more of a problem for you, eh, Ollie? Wink

Thanks, Tony, we progress. So was it just that I didn't put it between the [ img ][ /img ] thingies?

At last it can be told. Information released from the Secret Service archives after fifty years.

American musician Alan Lomax was put under surveillance by MI5 as a potential communist, and his BBC TV shows in the early 1950s were monitored by Special Branch. The BBC was informed that Lomax was in contact with the Hungarian press attaché in London, although that could have been linked to his interest in folk dancing.
