Can I be the first to mention THE THIRD POLICEMAN here?   As a cyclist on roads notoriously pitted with craters, I suppose I must be nearly 70% by now...

I'm afraid you can't (see message 164). When I lived in Amsterdam I was almost all bicycle, but I've recovered a wee bit since then.

Can I be the first to misquote Marx? - "Bikebonkers of the world unite! we have nothing to lose but our chains!"

Have I ever mentioned the first operation witnessed by my friend's (nurse) wife? A fella was having a toilet brush removed......... and then bristle by bristle......

I note that the poor man's been given three years' probation (which is probably longer than the guarantee on the bike).

(But perhaps I'm just being picky there. Maybe that observation should be on the Pedaltry Thread.)

A seasonal display of Antipodean excellence in a slightly unexpected field:

Isn't "Roger Sessions" an instruction to disrupt the work of artists in a recording studio?

(No, of course not - a very fine and under-appreciated composer, actually)...
