The Jazz enthusiasts have come off best it seems to me, they've got a board which covers all jazz programmes, so no change really. Whereas most other programmes have no forum whatsoever. The Beeb must be really scared of King Kennytone!  Wink

Anna

Posters talked about JStG on the 'Today' Green Room MB and I googled him. He comes up as first link (when typed with no spaces) and the link is:
http://jamesstgeorge.proboards32.com/

I tried to register, and my computer teacher tried too, but without success and I couldn't find an e-mail address to say help, help! On some sights one has to copy what's in a box, but I cannot see those, even with magnification.

Thank you for responding.

SusanDoris,

I have been over there, registration is fairly standard but you do have to copy the letters and numbers in the box at the end of the form.  You then have to tick the "I agree" box at the end of the page.  They send you an email which you have to respond to to activate your account.  I am afraid I cannot find any email for Help or any references in the Help section.  I will send you a personal message.

Hallo Susan

I couldn't resist trying and I seem now to be a member. It's  a bit of a convoluted process including, for security reasons, having to copy out a 'disguised' alpanumeric code and, later, copying in an 'Activation Key' that they send you by e-mail, but it seemed to work in the end.

If you continue to have difficulties I can probably send a message to the 'Host' there on your behalf. Do send me a 'Private Message' via this Board if you are still stuck and I'll see what I can do.

Oh, I see Anna has beaten me to it!

Goodafternoon!

There should be no problems registering for my place.

Even if you can not or do not get the activation code you can still use the board, it is only needed to be activated to receive e-mail notifications of thread replies.

Some E-mail providers, principally AOL filter out the activation e-mail (all auto sent out, not in my control) thinking it 'spam' or some such.

It should be no more difficult then here!  Grin

Having scanned this thread I take it there are new 'improvements' to the R3 boards!  Roll Eyes

We were treated to such on the Today board earlier. Along with previous versions! Like closure of the Great Debate set. Now Today threads are only started by the BBC. Hopeless.  Still maintain a presence there but it is spoilt.

The BBC have never and will never listen to the 'customers'.  Arrogance is what they do best and all they do. Huge protests have been made by Today users,  no chance of returning they pronounce.

We have a whole section on JSG for rants aginst the BBC moderation and control freakery!  Grin Shocked

One poster has in the past done all sorts like writing to all the top people, the minister concerned, submissions to BBC reviews etc. All for no effect or notice.  The BBC do not care, or have to. It is there to serve themselves as a pay supplier.

No spell checker here agggh!.

Blimey! I wonder whether it was me or Anna that pressed the Magic Lamp icon with the 'Do not on any account Rub' message printed just below it.

Welcome to the R3 Boards James.

Thank you. I have sent a pm.
I certainly hope I can solve the problem as I do enjoy a good discussion.

Yes. Sad

I don't see how on the new MB it would be possible to discuss Drama on 3, for instance. It has nothing to do with CD's, Mr Burnside, breakfast, jazz or Tchaikovsky. And it isn't a music matter either. Huh

By the way: hello everybody! I decided to join this board for obvious reasons. Wink

Hi pim-derks

Welcome aboard... The other place looks very bleak and forbidding, doesn't it?

Well, Kenny is in pre - mod over there now. I would say that is another sign of the times except Kenny's been there before and will be bailed out by Pete the host on the jazz bored. But nothing I've seen of the new regime encourages me to register over there.

I admit I don't get a warm and fuzzy card-for feeling when I roll up there to find our Collected Works of well over a year swept aside, if that's what you mean.

And here's one for the disingenuous comments file.
